 our code of conduct.
« Thread Started on Jun 18, 2008, 11:22am »

General

  • This RP is advanced, meaning you have a 500 word minimum in each of your posts (In Character, that is). You may be running low on muse, or whatever; but we do like to see you putting as much effort as you can into your in-character posts.

  • The RP is rated PG 13 with a pinch of R. There will be 'adult' rated posts, which I trust will be marked with an 'M' or anything to warn other members. So don't sign up here if you cannot handle that.

  • Be kind to all the members of the board. Yes, you may hate some of them or dislike them in any way, but they all still are human. We all are. This definitely rules out out-of-character or real-life dramas/feuds. We will not tolerate those here. Also, don't try to put anyone down in any possible way- even the littlest signs of it are visible through our eyes! Be understanding, and sensitive towards people here. This is a friendly site for all, and fights should be taken elsewhere

  • Don't steal or claim stuff that aren't yours. This goes for signatures, avatars, art and such. We strongly suggest you put a copyright on your stuff before showing them off to the members. But we trust that no one here is a thief, so don't make us lose that trust in you guys. Even stealing on the internet can give you a bad credit in the role playing world- we have a lot of different online friends from other sites, and we are always glad to warn them about thieves.

  • If ever you would want to use a photo of your character, please note that ONLY celebrities are allowed here. This means, no stealing pictures from cute people on MySpace, no using of your pretty cousin's photo (for all you know, there could be some creepy old guy checking it out), and anything of the likes. Before you decide on your celebrity, though, check out the Claimed Celebrities List to see if he/she is taken already. If he/she isn't, then you're free to use him/her! And once your bio will be accepted, your chose celebrity will be added to the list. You do can use a model though, just not someone from Myspace, or DeviantArt.  However, we might give exemptions from the internet celebrities themselves. Such as (you probably know them already); Lauren Steil, Hannah Beth, Jac, Audrey, etc.

  • When you join the site, you must take into notice the time you will be putting into the site. I don't want members who just come and go, without posting or posting for a few days and then leaving without a trace. If you decide to leave, please tell us. There is a board for you to post in if you decide to leave for either forever or for a short period of time. Also if you had not posted (or even checked in!) in a period of two weeks, we will -- without warning -- delete your account.

Characters

  • You are allowed only ONE character per account. You must keep that character active until you can ask for another one. Your first character must have a minimum of five in character posts in order to have a second one. Please join with your character's FULL NAME as your username. If you have yet to decide on a name, join with a different username and change it afterwards.

  • Claiming a play-by for your character is a first come, first serve deal. The first one who claims the celebrity (with his or her profile done) will get the celebrity. No more reservations, whatsoever.

  • Canon characters are characters who are pretty much absolute. Some of them have less creative freedom than others. Those that do have plenty of freedom, you are free to do whatever with your canon. As long as you make the character stick to it's stereotype. Now, this might not always be a case, but when your character is placed in a house that he/she don't really like, or seem to be fitting in, you should make a reason why he/she would fit there. (Like for an example: he or she is more like her other house-mates even though s/he'd like to deny it.)

  • When making your Character Profile, be creative about it. Not everyone is perfect. Add some faults, some flaws, some drama to your character. Oh, and the password to the application board is opensesame just to let you know. Keep reading, though if you haven't already done so. The more drama, the more interesting your character gets. Be detailed, sell your character to us.

  • Also, when making your character profile, be sure to put your character's last name in caps, and then their first and middle name in lower case letters {LAST NAME, first and middle name}

only accepting canons at the moment.

Posting

  • As I said before, no one liners. The minimum word count is five hundred words. Don't type out a novel, but don't type out a little itsy bitsy note either!

  • Definately NO CHATSPEAK. It trashes the post and makes the forum seem trashy. We will allow chatspeak on chat areas though. Like the IM place.

  • When posting, be sure to type in correct grammar, spelling and, punctuation. We understand if you're not too good of a role player, but that doesn't give you a reason not to run through a spelling/grammar check. You can do that in Microsoft Word, you know, so it's advisable if you type up your posts there first. But we'd always be happy to edit anything that you're not sure about, but don't make us do all the work! Have some respect, too.

  • You must post in third person view (YOU narrating what your character is doing as if he/she is in a story), and in the past tense.

  • You are allowed to bump your topic. For those who aren't quite sure what this is, it is simply replying to your own post with a 'bump' just to keep it from getting old, and to show people that you're gladly welcoming anyone in it. But bumping your topic continuously is not right, though. This only applies to OOC posts. Once you bump your topic once, be sure not to do it until it grows inactive for a long period of time again. You can't just keep on bumping every hour when you don't see anyone replying to you. It often takes time for people to type up posts and consider your topic. So, to keep control -- bump your topic when it hasn't been replied to in three days. Bumping in IC places is more wrong though. If your open thread isn't replied to in a matter of five days, you can post in the request board to have someone RP with you.

  • We do not allow spam. You know, posting useless, unnecessary crap like, "LOL!" or "Whatever..." or anything like that just to get the last word, or simply just for the purpose of answering back. Not everything needs a reply, too, okay? This rule applies both to OOC (Out of Character) and IC (In Character).

  • No double posting. The modify button is your friend! Please, use the modify button instead of double posting just to make your post count look impressive.

  • When role playing with 3 or more people, please take time to let each other reply. This is a common mistake done far too many times, as I see in some boards. Let's say it goes like this (for those who can't understand): when person A posts, then person B posts, then person C posts then you guys have to wait for person A's post, then person B's, and then so on. It's easy to follow.

Current bans
as of JUNE 21, 2008

  • original characters (meaning those not in the canon list.)
those with no suggested play-bys are still canons.
  • female characters. For those who are in the process in making a female character, no worries.
